Renewal of the Mount Druitt Swimming Centre to invest in wellbeing and strengthening the community.
Blacktown City Council is redeveloping the Mount Druitt Swimming Centre to create a contemporary and enhanced space for the local community. The redevelopment features a new indoor swimming facility, a refurbished 50 metre outdoor pool, a new entrance with a kiosk, upgraded changerooms and accessible amenities, as well as landscape establishments.
This project is one of seven transformational projects funded as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program. It will provide a year-round elevated swimming experience and significantly enhance recreational opportunities for the Mount Druitt community.
The renewal of Mount Druitt Swimming Centre is a key component of the broader Council masterplan for the Mount Druitt precinct. Alongside the Mount Druitt Swimming Centre, two new community facilities will be delivered including the Mount Druitt Hub and a new First Nationals Cultural Hub, as well as a landscaped public garden. The precinct plan also includes improved connectivity for pedestrians and cars, creating a more vibrant and accessible centre.
The APP Group was engaged as Program Manager for the delivery of Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program for Blacktown City Council.
