Melanie is the Vice President Buildings and Infrastructure for Bureau Veritas in the Pacific.
On 1 December 2025, Bureau Veritas completed the integration of The APP Group. The business, now known as Bureau Veritas Buildings and Infrastructure Pty Ltd.
Melanie will evolve and grow the business as it seeks to unlock new market opportunities in Australia and New Zealand across buildings, infrastructure and defence under the Bureau Veritas brand.
Prior to this appointment, Melanie served as Chief Executive of The APP Group’s Property and Social Infrastructure business. Recognised for her leadership and commitment to purpose driven organisations, she also contributes her expertise across several boards, including the UNSW Foundation, the GWS Giants Foundation, the Hassell Advisory Board, and the ADA UNSW Advisory Council.
Melanie has extensive experience across leadership, strategy, business relations, client and stakeholder engagement, development, and project management. She has an impressive track record in leading and empowering teams and projects with her strong knowledge across various industry sectors and brings her creative flair for customising operational plans to align with market demands, opportunities, and growth objectives.
Bianca leads the infrastructure business for Bureau Veritas in the Pacific leading strategy, growth, service delivery and performance across the Advisory, Project Delivery and Assurance services.
Bianca's extensive career has seen her contribute to some of Australia's most ambitious infrastructure projects across four major cities including, Melbourne’s North East Link, Sydney’s NorthConnex and Brisbane’s Airport Link tunnel.
With a rich experience spanning 20 years, Bianca has honed her skills in client project delivery and overseeing the independent verification of major transport infrastructure projects. She is well regarded across the industry for her technical, commercial and project leadership capabilities.
Bridget brings over 25 years of experience in property, portfolio/project management and commercial construction to her role as Managing Director Buildings for Bureau Veritas in the Pacific.
Leading a team of over 150 people, Bridget leads strategy, growth, service delivery and performance across the Advisory, Development Management, Project Delivery, Property Management and Asset Optimisation service lines. She is passionate about the importance of connection between the built environment and achieving business strategy objectives and enhancing culture.
Mathew (Mat) leads the Defence business for Bureau Veritas in the Pacific, with the responsibility for driving the growth strategy and pursuit opportunities across the industry.
Mat has over 30 years’ experience in Defence encompassing numerous operational and industry roles in project delivery, capability development and facility upgrades. Previously, Mat was accountable for a large-scale consultancy workforce and has led business development captures for test and evaluation ranges. A retired Navy senior officer, he has also held multiple leadership positions including command appointments over naval establishments and at-sea aviation capabilities.
Mat holds an Executive MBA, Master of Maritime Policy and Master of Defence Studies. He is a Chartered Manager, Fellow of the Institute of Managers & Leaders and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Brett is the Managing Director Commercial for the Buildings and Infrastructure portfolio across Bureau Veritas in the Pacific. He is responsible for major pursuits, spearheading service delivery innovation, and reimagining how we package client solutions to support client service delivery.
Brett excels at building strong relationships with clients and industry partners in order to design and implement bespoke, end-to-end solutions for major programs of work that generate genuine value for clients.
As The APP Group’s outgoing CEO Adam Castro remains on the Bureau Veritas Buildings and Infrastructure Pty Ltd Board as a non-executive Director.
Adam led The APP Group’s an ambitious growth strategy that built on the strong foundations of the business and positioned the Group for the future by being the partner of choice for property and infrastructure advisory. Bureau Veritas, a 200-year global leader in laboratory testing, inspection and certification services, successfully acquired The APP Group, in late 2024 to support the expansion of its Building & Infrastructure business.
Adam's extensive career spans more than three decades within the property and infrastructure industries. He holds a Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics (Hons) from the University of Canberra and a Master of Financial Management from the Australian National University.
