First Nations Cultural Hub in Mount Druitt

Creating a dedicated space to empower and celebrate First Nations communities in Western Sydney.

The First Nations Cultural Hub project in Mount Druitt is a new purpose-built, cultural healing centre designed to empower and celebrate the Dharug people and the Western Sydney First Nations community.

This facility was guided by consultation with First Nations communities and embeds Aboriginal knowledge into the design and planning process. It will serve as a dedicated space for vibrant gatherings, deliver cultural programs and promote connectedness, well-being and economic self-determination.

This project is one of seven transformational projects funded as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program. The NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program aims to fund transformational infrastructure projects that seek to improve liveability of communities and support economic recovery in Western Sydney.

The new First Nations Cultural Hub is a key component of the broader Council masterplan for the Mount Druitt precinct. Alongside the First Nations Cultural Hub, two new community facilities will be delivered of the Mount Druitt Hub and Library, and the Mount Druitt Swimming Centre, as well as a landscaped public garden. The precinct plan also includes improved connectivity for pedestrians and cars, creating a more vibrant and accessible centre.

The APP Group was engaged as Program Manager for the delivery of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants by Blacktown City Council. Our team will be delivering projects through the project lifecycle, from ideas inception to commissioning and operations, working closely with Blacktown City Council to significantly enhance the lives and livelihoods of the community.
