Coomera Connector

Coomera Connector Stage 1 Central

Providing an alternative north-south route between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The first stage of the Coomera Connector project between Coomera and Nerang, north of the Gold Coast, will make travelling safer, faster and more accessible. The Coomera Connector project is the result of a joint investment between the Australian and Queensland governments to relieve pressure on the M1 by providing an alternative route for local traffic and more transport options for travellers on the northern Gold Coast.

The Coomera Connector Stage 1 will include 16km of four-lane motorway to be delivered in three packages:

  • Stage 1 North: Shipper Drive, Coomera to Helensvale Road, Helensvale
  • Stage 1 Central: Helensvale Road, Helensvale to Smith Street Motorway, Molendinar
  • Stage 1 South: Smith Street Motorway, Molendinar to Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Nerang.

The APP Group has been engaged by the Department of Transport and Main Roads to undertake Contract Administration and Independent Certification services for the Coomera Connector Stage 1 Central package. Alongside our project partner Arcadis, we are providing expert services for the design and construction phase of the project across all disciplines including civil, structural, ITS, environmental and geotechnical.

The design details for the Central package are due to be released in early 2024, with early works to follow shortly thereafter.
