Project delivery of rehabilitation facilities for a leading Aboriginal Community-controlled centre.
The Glen
Central Coast, NSW

A collaborative project

APP has been a supporter of The Glen for several years through our participation in their annual Touch Football Day, an event which brings friends, clients and employees of the Centre together to play social football.

The Glen reached out to APP in 2019 to assist with a feasibility assessment of The Glen for Women, hoping to utilise our expertise in property, project management and history of successful project delivery. In response, APP offered pro-bono services for the new facility and assistance on other, smaller maintenance projects for the men’s centre.

Due diligence laid the foundations

Initially, APP assisted The Glen by assessing site options and developing related project costings. The assessments helped The Glen to finalise arrangements for the funding agreement. As a result of the success of the early advice, the long-term relationship and appreciation of APP as project management specialists, APP was engaged to plan, manage and deliver the new facility.

A strategic and sensitive solution

Being mindful of the sensitivities of the facility’s end-users, we established an all-female project team. The specialist group will project-manage the design, development and delivery of the contemporary 20-bed residential centre, which is due for completion in 2021.

We’re proud to be making a difference with this Central Coast community through our work on the first Aboriginal Community controlled, culturally responsible and evidence-based rehabilitation centre for Women in New South Wales.
