Westralia Square 2 project achieves Practical Completion
Westralia Square 2 has achieved practical completion, becoming one of Perth’s most sustainable buildings.
Designed to achieve a 5 Star NABERS and 5 Star Green Star rating, the 12-storey hybrid commercial tower, the first of its kind in Perth, features timber floor plates integrated into the steel structure in order to reduce its carbon footprint.
The APP Group was appointed by GDI Property Group to deliver project management and superintendent services to the Westralia Square 2 project. The construction involved the adaptive reuse of the existing structure and used renewable materials, which resulted in an 85% embodied carbon reduction when compared to a traditional concrete building.
In 2023, professional services firm Arup announced it had signed as the anchor tenant for Westralia Square 2 and will occupy 2,600 sqm over three levels.
