The first four of 17 concrete headstocks, each weighing more than a Boeing 737, have been installed in Mascot as part of the $2.6 billion Sydney Gateway project.

The Sydney Gateway is a key part in achieving the NSW Government’s vision to transform travel around Sydney and ease congestion and journey times.

The new toll-free connection will slash up to 40 minutes off travel between Parramatta and the airport, bypassing 26 sets of traffic lights.

APP is proud to have been involved in the project since 2020 when we were appointed by Transport for NSW to the role of Independent Certifier alongside our partners SMEC.

The project will address the limitations of the current transport network through the construction of new access roads, bridges, overpasses and link roads.

Once open, the Sydney Gateway will provide a high-capacity connection from St Peters Interchange, to domestic terminals, and beyond. The improved road network will provide a new route for over 10,000 trucks every day, reducing traffic through Mascot and enabling ease of movement around the city.

Supporting some if the nation’s largest infrastructure projects over the last 20 years, the APP team has extensive experience in providing Independent Certifier, Verifier and Financier’s Engineers advice to delivering expert project management and risk management consultancy services.

The Sydney Gateway is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.
