In February 2013, APP was engaged by The Pacific Group of Companies (PGoC) to provide Project Management, Superintendence as well as Tenancy Coordination services to oversee and administer the design and construction of the $370 million redevelopment of Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre at Hopper’s Crossing in Melbourne’s South-West.
Our role covered the progression of design documents, preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation and negotiations, contractor appointment, ongoing Project Management of the live environment during construction and Superintendence roles for both the early works package and the main works package.
We are delighted to announce the successful delivery of the newly redeveloped Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre on 07 April, 2017. This was a three year construction delivery of over 10 Stages and 30 Separable Portions.
The existing centre has been extended by over 35,000sqm, featuring wide malls, clean finishes, and designed for maximum natural light. The main mall included a new Myer Store over two levels, a new Target store, international retailers including H&M and Uniqlo, and over 120 new shops and kiosks. The fresh food precinct including an Aldi supermarket, an external restaurant precinct, a new Tavern hotel and two Gold Class cinemas. In addition there are 1500 new car spaces and a new 10-bus interchange.
The program of works included several milestones. The first of which was new 10-bus interchange, which was operational from early 2014. By mid-2015 the new dining and entertainment precinct and Target and specialty stores opened. Mid-2016 saw the remainder of the fashion mall open inclusive of Myer, high end retailers and International brands. The fresh food precinct opened in April 2017, the final stage of the development.
It was a pleasure working with the PGoC team on this project and we are delighted with the result.
The project has been a success, showcasing APPs ability to deliver large scale retail outcomes for our clients and retailers.
APP's project team currently includes Tynan John, Aleisha Lando and Peter Tallis, and have previously comprised Andrew Borthwick, Megan Macdonald and Kristen Lang.
