Scott O’Reilly to lead the projects team into the future in Victoria

APP would like to congratulate Scott O’Reilly on his recent promotion to Business Unit Leader, leading a team of 16 consultants. To celebrate, we asked Scott about his career journey and aspirations.
Scott O'Reilly

Scott joined APP as a Project Manager (PM) in 2014, bringing design and contract management experience to the exciting world of project management. He was drawn to APP and project management because of the value good PM’s can add to projects, particularly if they are engaged early in the design process. Scott has risen through the ranks to Project Director and now assumes greater responsibility as Business Unit Leader for the delivery of APP’s projects in Victoria.

Scott recalls 820 Whitehorse Rd “East Central Tower as one of the most notable projects in his time at APP. It was a 6-year journey working collaboratively with the client, from project brief through to handover and occupation. ANZ Project Campus, 839 Collins Street is another project highlight for Scott, which had multiple stakeholders and required specialist negotiations for the Agreement for Lease on ANZ’s behalf, all the way through masterplanning, design management, construction phase services and procurement, to operational readiness and transition to operation.

As a leader of the business, Scott is passionate about “projects that impact many people over a long period, such as schools, community infrastructure, workplaces, universities. These buildings support the people inside to be a community and educate the next generation, contribute to research, or add economic value. The buildings are long term and more than a point-in-time transaction.”

In the future Scott aspires to continue designing solutions that meet the client’s objectives and motivations, and continue developing the next generation of people at APP.
