Following the successful delivery of previous Stages 1B and 2A, APP has continued to provide Project Management services for the redevelopment, refurbishment, and extension of the existing Aged Care Facility, at 101 Grey Street in the heart of St Kilda, by successfully reaching Practical Completion on Stage 2B.
Coined Project 101, the project was established to ensure that Sacred Heart Mission (SHM) can continue to provide critical services to marginalised Victorians in need, and support the mission’s vision “of an inclusive, fair and compassionate community, which enables people to overcome disadvantage and realise their full potential”. The $27mil, three-stage redevelopment will provide accommodation, health and support services to people who are experiencing chronic disadvantage or homelessness.
Stage 2 saw the redevelopment of an 83 bed high-level care facility into a new four-storey facility which provides improved office spaces, support services, and 97 new and refurbished bedrooms for the existing Aged Care Hostel.
Following this milestone, APP are excited by the opportunity to continue their strong relationship with Sacred Heart Mission to see the demolition, redevelopment and refurbishment of an additional 3 buildings on Robe Street for Stage 3 of the project. Stage 3 will see the refurbishment and expansion of the safe and open Women’s House, Hands on Health Clinic, and construction of a centralised administration hub.
APP will act as Superintendent under the construction contract and continue to provide Project Management services for Sacred Heart Mission through to completion of the project in 2021.
