APP is assisting Vicinity Centres with design, delivery and project management services for the $130M development. Construction commenced on the Chadstone MGallery by Sofitel hotel in late May 2018 and is on track to be completed this year.
The 12-storey, 250-room hotel, including rooftop conservatory bar, swimming pool and wellness centre, will offer panoramic views from Port Phillip Bay to the CBD and across the Dandenong Ranges, setting a new benchmark for luxury accommodation outside Melbourne’s centre.
The hotel, targeting a five-star design and as-built Green Star ESD rating, is more than halfway through construction with the interior fit-out of public areas underway. Every detail of the design has been considered throughout the lobby, function spaces and suites including a bespoke digital art installation upon entry intended to evolve seasonally alongside Chadstone – The Fashion Capital.
The hotel development is a key element of Chadstone’s masterplan. Their vision is to build upon Chadstone’s iconic status, and for the shopping centre and hotel to become one internationally recognised lifestyle, entertainment and tourism destination. The hotel is being constructed to capitalise on the 23 million visitors that visit Chadstone each year, including the estimated 350,000 international tourists.

- 250 guest rooms including various suites
- Health and wellness facilities, including a day spa, pool and gym
- Conferencing and meeting rooms
- Two restaurants and skyline lounge bar
