APP has acted as Design Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent for the new ANZ ‘Open House’ Executive offices in the bank’s global headquarters in Melbourne.
Located at 833 Collins St, Docklands, the redevelopment of the ANZ offices have reached practical completion, delivering an updated design that reflects the bank’s environmentally conscious culture.
The new design is centred around the reuse of existing materials including stone, timber veneer, and significant amounts of materials from the previous fitout. As an example, the new reception desk re-uses broken pieces of travertine from the former reception desk to recreate a modern concierge-style corporate reception. Throughout the new design, lighter materials replace tinted glass, creating an open space for ANZ’s executive team.
APP played an important role in stakeholder engagement for the project, including working closely with the client team to communicate to ANZ’s executive who had temporary offices during the construction period. Stakeholders could follow progress via virtual walk-through using a ‘street view’ style 360° photographic survey. To better manage the design process, an innovative ‘all risk’ procurement model was used to streamline the design process and allowing ANZ to retain control.
Led by Project Director, Scott O’Reilly, Project Manager, Esther Reis and Project Manager, Heath Ortner from APP, other project partners included interior design by Foolscap Studio and SHAPE Australia as head contractor. Congratulations to all involved.
