Early works are underway for Stage 1 of the $2.4 billion project, with more than 450 slot trenches and 175 test pits completed, providing valuable information about what existing services are located under the light rail route.
There is significant work scheduled in the coming months including the continuation of stormwater installation along O’Connell and Victoria Streets.
APP subsidiary AQUAS is the project’s Environmental Representative conducting independent environmental audits into site investigation work for the Parramatta Light Rail. Site investigations will continue over the next few months, including night work on major roads and key intersections in Westmead, Parramatta North and Parramatta.
APP is also providing Acoustic Advisor and Independent Arborist services to the Parramatta Light Rail project.
The new light rail will transport around 28,000 people every day to key destinations, connecting communities and people to essential services and job opportunities.
The Parramatta Light Rail is expected to open in 2023.
