APP's Northern NSW team was engaged to project manage the new facility, including the submissions and DA, as well as managing the design process.

Constructed by Grindley Construction, the 125-bed facility includes spacious outdoor areas, shaded balconies and gardens, an alfresco dining area with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ, and underground parking for visitors. The design boasts unique structural elements, most notable being the curved entrance. In addition to resident care accommodations, the facility will also include a modern café and salon, which will be open to the public.

Opal Toukley will sit alongside four existing Opal care homes in Berkeley Vale, Kanwal (Opal Glenmere), Killarney Vale and Norah Head.

The Mayor of the Central Coast, Jane Smith, opened the site, acknowledging the important role Opal Toukley will play in providing much needed aged care services to the local community.

Opal Toukley will be located in Main Street, Toukley with completion expected in 2020.
