The existing facility will undergo a major renovation, with APP overseeing the design and construction of two new grandstands and a new administration building in addition to the refurbishment of the existing grandstand and forecourt. The renovation will also see the seating capacity increase significantly from 936 to 2846 seats, in addition to new corporate facilities, bars and kiosks.
The improvement to the Stadium’s facilities will enable Coffs Harbour to continue to attract more major sporting events such as the NRL, AFL, A-League Games and the Cricket, with all player facilities approved by the governing bodies of national sports teams. The redevelopment will also provide the infrastructure and services required to allow major events to be broadcast by Fox Sports. In addition to major sporting events, the stadium will continue to host local state and national sporting carnivals.
Construction on the new stadium began on 28 March 2018 with completion of the new grandstands due by December 2018, and the refurbishment of existing structures by May 2019.
