Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport project, with 31 metro stations and 66km of new metro rail.
The TSE Contract, which is part of Stage 2 of Sydney Metro, will deliver 16.5 kilometres of new metro line between Chatswood and Sydenham. This includes 15.5 kilometres of new twin rail tunnels, including a new crossing under Sydney Harbour.
APP is well placed to deliver this project, having delivered an impressive string of successful Independent Certifier roles on major transport infrastructure projects including NorthConnex, WestConnex-M4 East and the New M5, Brisbane Airport Link and Lane Cove Tunnel. APP was also the Independent Certifier for the Sydney Metro Northwest Tunnels and Stations Civil (TSC) contract, which reached completion last year.
Executive Manager of Infrastructure Scott Johnston said: “We are proud to be continuing our work on Sydney Metro and are excited to see this project deliver new world-class public transport infrastructure to the people of NSW. Having worked collaboratively with SMEC on IC roles in the past, we are looking forward to strengthening that relationship further throughout this project. Congratulations to IC Representative Rob Nievergelt, Project Director Jeff Sharp and the rest of the APP team.”
