APP helps Property Council establish new social infrastructure roundtable

APP’s faith in the future of social infrastructure as a property asset class, along with the public policy challenges of other property asset classes, saw us work with the Property Council in Queensland to establish a new social infrastructure roundtable.

Queensland PCA President Bruce Harper announced the round table initiative saying “the Property Council understands the importance of social infrastructure and how these assets will be increasingly needed as we see the population increase. The growing social infrastructure sector provides both opportunities and challenges for our policy makers as they seek to develop plans for land-use in SEQ, and to deliver the vital infrastructure that knits our communities together. To this end, the Property Council established the Social Infrastructure Roundtable in 2018, to help champion the state’s health and education sectors, encouraging further integration of these assets into the community and business sector.”

The roundtable includes:

Steve Dickson (Chair) - University of Queensland

Stuart Pickering - Uniting Care Health

Patrick Lane Mullins - Catholic Archdiocesan Services

Elisa Knowlman - St Vincents Health

Karl Clements - Goodstart Early Learning

Marguerite Langford - Queensland University of Technology

Dean Clough - Ramsay Health

Nicola Collier-Jackson - Griffith University

Chris Gill - Australian Catholic University

Joanna Vasiliou - Mater Health

Ross Elliott - APP

Nathan Percy - Property Council of Australia

Chris Mountford - Property Council of Australia

The roundtable is focussing on a series of public policy and regulatory issues which impact social infrastructure assets, with a view to developing a more equitable policy platform which will support the further development of health and education facilities in Queensland in line with the growing population and market demands.

Members of the Property Council’s Social Infrastructure round table along with Property Council staff caught up with former Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk earlier this year at an event kindly hosted by ACU on their Banyo Campus.
