Recognising that technology is a game-changer to the building and construction industry, APP has partnered with Giraffe technology and Stuart Suthern-Brunt to establish Ark, a new joint venture. Ark will aim to provide an innovative new digital platform that enables the delivery of built assets using modern methods of construction.
The objective of the new Ark strategic partnership is to leverage scale, expertise, and technology to create an open-source digital platform. Available for industry and clients, Ark will support emerging innovation to systemise and automate construction, while providing levels of transparency of the delivery process not achieved before.
APP Group CEO Adam Castro said, “Investing into Ark will help APP stay at the forefront of opportunities that keep up with the rapid change and client demand for technology-led digital transformation solutions that deliver value creation outcomes.
Ark will be powered by Giraffe’s technology whose mission is to connect, simplify and accelerate the delivery of built assets. Giraffe is a highly successful technology firm used by clients around the world, including the NSW Government, to connect to spatial data, do master planning and integrate with enterprise data systems.
“The Ark product offering will benefit clients with reductions across time and costs, delivering quality outcomes. Adopting modern methods of construction can greatly enhance the capital program, creating new data flows and productivity efficiencies through off-site manufacturing,” said Castro.
Giraffe CEO Rob Asher shared, “We are excited to be part of this strategic partnership opportunity and see that Giraffe will tightly integrate with Ark’s mission. The opportunity for Ark to convert master plans and detailed designs into schedules of components rapidly will be of great benefit to the marketplace. Ark will manage the procurement and delivery of components and their assembly into completed built assets, so it is a natural inclusion in a layered digital solution seeking to accelerate and simplify the delivery of assets.”
Stuart Suthern-Brunt will lead Ark, bringing over 25 years of experience engaged by governments and the private sector on over $60 billion of infrastructure investment across the UK, Canada and Australia.
Ark Managing Director Stuart Suthern-Brunt said, “Our single goal is to help modernise the construction industry by leveraging the vast amount of data it generates. In doing so we want the industry to create new value chains, predict outcomes and improve the speed and quality of decision-making.”
