In what turned out to be perfect timing, APP was advertising for an Assistant Project Manager role and with no local industry contacts or project management experience, APP took a chance on me and I haven’t looked back.
I dove straight into a project management role on ALDI’s Distribution Centre where I found that APP and in particular the team in Adelaide were really supportive. I was provided with a lot of training to perform my job well and while I was given a lot of responsibility I never felt un-qualified, there was always someone there to help me fill in the gaps in my knowledge where required.
During my time with APP I’ve been actively encouraged and supported to get involved with the local industry and broaden my network which has helped me to develop and raise my own profile within the industry. I’ve been a member of NAWIC for the past three years, on the Future Directions Committee and was a participant in the PCA’s 100 Women in Property mentoring program in 2017 and I’m currently President of NAWIC’s SA chapter.
The support and encouragement I’ve received both personally and professionally has and continues to develop my skills as a project manager and given me the opportunity to meet and build relationships with people that I would otherwise have not crossed paths with.
