Property and Infrastructure Specialists
I first heard about APP when I was working for a contractor on an infrastructure project that APP were also the Independent Certifier for. I met some of the people who explained what APP does and after further research I applied for the Graduate Program. It was the culture that drew me to APP the most – the recruitment process made me feel like APP wanted to get to know me rather than being just a number and it was at the graduate information evening where I thought I definitely wanted to work here.

I have a degree in Civil Engineering and because I come from a civil background I thought I wanted to continue to work in transport and major infrastructure. However, after completing the rotations I discovered that I'm really interested in building works. One of my goals is to work on an iconic tower in Sydney and I feel like APP has a really good chance of working on one of those projects.

I joined the Projects team – the team is great and the projects they work on are really exciting. At the moment I’m working on the upgrade of Hornsby Hospital. I’m out on site most days and I enjoy being able to work on something that’s actually benefitting the community. Every time I go to construction meetings I’m learning new things, and I soak up as much as I can. I’ll attend site inspections, safety walks, be in meetings when we’re deciding staging and directly liaise with the client and head contractor. It’s really interesting and I’m learning a lot.

APP offers a lot of social activities and programs which give you an opportunity to socialise with people at work. For me, the social aspect is big. You spend most of your time at work so I think it is important that you enjoy being around the people you work with.

I’m working on a project I really enjoy, with a team I like working with and I also get the social aspect – it’s ticking all the boxes.
