Property and Infrastructure Specialists
I joined APP’s Graduate Program with a degree in civil and environmental engineering and a desire to get into project management. I enjoy being exposed to all project elements and project management requires you to understand facets including architecture, engineering, and project financials.
Matt Minogue

The Graduate Program gave me a strong understanding of the depth of different services a project management firm can offer. I am currently in the Projects department, but my experiences in Urban Development and Programs were invaluable to my learning throughout the year. My time in Infrastructure saw me working on some of the biggest projects in Australia; Sydney Light Rail, Canberra Light Rail, and Northlink (WA).

Over the course of the Graduate Program there was plenty of support, and senior staff act as mentors to help you learn as much as possible.

From day one, I was going to meetings with leaders of projects and companies. Regardless of your role in the meeting, there is so much to learn in seeing projects come to life at the hands of leaders in the construction and property industries.

In my first month out of the graduate program, I’ve been working as an assistant PM on several aquatic centres, and the development of some Sydney Harbour marinas. I have a great team who provide constant support and encourage me to take on more responsibility.

I’ve made an effort to be involved with everything APP has to offer. APP4Me has been a great way to meet people and contribute to a positive work culture. We’ve always got something fun lined up - lunchtime legends sport and the table tennis tournament have been great for getting people involved who wouldn’t normally.

I’m enjoying the challenges and diversity of working as a project manager and I’m excited to see what I’ll be working on in the future.

- Matt Minogue, Assistant Project Manager
