Westpac Sydney

  • Westpac Sydney Head Office

Project details:

In 2006, Westpac initially engaged APP to assist in the negotiation of the Agreement for Lease with the developers of the KENS Site in Sydney, in a move by Westpac to relocates staff from nine current CBD buildings into one 73,620m2 location. Subsequently, Westpac agreed with Leighton Properties to take a pre-commitment to the entire 33 storey building, making this the largest ever leasing transaction in Australia.

APP’s role for Westpac extended to the implementation of their fitout, review and monitoring of the base building design, and management of administrative requirements of the AFL including Cost and Time. APP also represented Westpac as their advocate in Developer/Contractor negotiations and disputes.

APP assisted in the migration of more than 7,000 employees within the Sydney CBD, and helped move over 5,000 employees into the new building. APP's involvement was to ensure operational readiness of the new office fitout and to deliver last minute business-specific requirements prior to each move.

As project manager, APP managed the migration and overall coordination of the site through a staged completion program, allowing Westpac staff to occupy the building prior to overall completion.

The tenancy agreement negotiated for Westpac by APP set new benchmarks for tenant rights and benefits, with APP widely acknowledged as playing a major role in securing these gains due to our extensive and detailed experience in this area.
