Westralia Square 2 is a 12-storey hybrid commercial tower and the first of its kind to be built in Perth. Designed to achieve a 5 Star NABERS and 5 Star Green Star rating, Westralia Square 2 features timber floor plates integrated into the steel structure in order to reduce its carbon footprint.
The APP Group was appointed by GDI Property Group to deliver project management and superintendent services to the Westralia Square 2 project. The construction involved the adaptive reuse of the existing structure and used renewable materials, which resulted in an 85% embodied carbon reduction when compared to a traditional concrete building.
In 2023, professional services firm Arup announced it had signed as the anchor tenant for Westralia Square 2 and will occupy 2,600 sqm over three levels.
