Government

APP has provided professional services to the Commonwealth Government, and its agencies, since our establishment in 1989. One of our very first projects was the Defence Signals Directorate building for the Department of Defence.

Our extensive list of Commonwealth Government Departments and agencies include the Department of Finance and Administration, Department of Defence, Department of Health and Ageing, AirServices Australia and the Department of Environment and Heritage.

APP currently has a number of staff seconded to ACT Government agencies and GBEs, including the Land Development Agency and ActewAGL. These staff perform senior roles within the agencies to which they are attached and transfer essential skills to the permanent staff of our clients.

APP's Canberra office is managing the iconic new Canberra Library and Theatre Link project for the Cultural Facilities Corporation. This landmark building is the centrepiece of Civic Square and is located on one of the historic Walter Burley Griffin land axes, which shape the layout for the central areas of Canberra.

In QLD APP has developed a strong relationship with Queensland Health, as a result of our performance and reliability on various health projects spanning QLD’s Far North Coast to northern NSW. We are also familiar to a number of other Government departments via commissions for Department of Local Government, Planning, Sport & Recreation Indigenous Environmental Health Infrastructure Unit, Queensland Rail and Queensland Transport. APP in QLD has also been engaged by privatised agencies such as Brisbane Airport Corporation and SouthBank Corporation to undertake significant planning and project management commissions.

APP in Victoria has significant experience with State Government projects and a sound understanding of the procedures, needs and requirements of Government. In particular we understand and are familiar with that Government’s “Partnerships Victoria” procurement method, having been involved in a number of different roles during the bid evaluation phase. APP is currently working on the venue overlay and public domain works associated with the Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne in March 2006, the Echuca Regional Hospital Redevelopment for the Department of Human Services and the International Training Centre in Laverton for the Department of Defence.

In NSW, during the lead up to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, APP assisted in the delivery of 19 of the 33 Olympic venues for SOCOG. Substantial works has been undertaken for the NSW State Rail Authority and its divisions, and we have been working alongside the NSW’s Department of Housing inhouse PM team to benchmark the delivery of affordable housing throughout the Sydney metropolitan area. We also have significant experience of the NSW State Government’s Public/Private Partnerships procurement method.
