Environment and Sustainability

Environmental projects involve a complex blend of technical, legal and commercial issues. APP’s diverse skill base drawn from technical, contracting and environmental engineering backgrounds means we have a sound understanding of how to manage those issues and deliver the best commercial outcome for your project. We emphasise the importance of achieving client business objectives within the framework of environmental compliance, high ethical standards and a spirit of cooperative teamwork. Being independent of contractors and consultants, our sole focus is on managing your risk and saving you time and money.

Sustainability has evolved from a marketing concept into an integral component of the built environment. The need to balance environmental, social and economic issues is a reality for all development projects. At APP, our role is to manage sustainable development processes and projects, providing specific advice and strategy to deliver sustainable outcomes. We recognise that sustainable development must be aligned with business strategy and integrated in the planning process from day one. Our people work closely with a network of highly respected consultants to coordinate and investigate the development of proven trans-disciplinary solutions which form the foundation of commercially sensitive developments.

Our recognition of the importance of Sustainable Development led APP in 2001 to become a founding member of Australia’s Green Building Council, the peak body established to promote sustainable development and the transition of the property industry to implementing green building programs, technologies, design practice and operations. Our staff are actively involved in Green Building Council committees and other industry groups.

APP have managed some of the largest environmental projects in Australia for property owners, investors, managers, developers, Government organisations, local authorities and financial institutions This includes remediation of the largest gasworks site in the Southern Hemisphere, covering 50ha, for AGL at Mortlake.
