The QLD State Government, Gold Coast City Council and the Commonwealth Government have committed to delivering stage one of the $600M Gold Coast Rapid Transit Project. GCRT (Stage 1) will provide a world class light rail system that will integrate with the existing public transport network and connect the people and places of the city starting at the new Gold Coast University Hospital, pass through Southport and Surfers Paradise and terminate at Pacific Fair shopping centre in Broadbeach. APP and Hyder Consulting have jointly been appointed as Independent Certifier for this project.
